Buzzard Roost Ranch

Buzzard Roost Ranch was originally established by Colonel John B. Colton in the canyon country near Eddyville, Nebraska during the early years of settlement on the prairie.

Over time the surrounding land became home to several homesteading families, including the Line family. Dennis Ball Line and his descendants later owned and worked ranch and farm land in the region, both within the canyon and across the surrounding prairie outside Eddyville.

This site serves as a historical archive of that place and the people connected to it. Photographs, letters, family recollections, land records, and local stories are being gathered and preserved here as the material is organized and digitized.

Many of the documents come directly from family collections, including Civil War correspondence, ranch records, and early photographs from the Nebraska homestead era.

Additional genealogical material relating specifically to the Line family is preserved separately at lineranch.com.
